Found a used 348 muffler...could someove verify with 100% accuracy that...

the outlets are perfect for a 355? Are the tips identical?

It looks more compact and lighter than a 355 muffy.* I'd like to use it if it's a perfect fit.

If I have to spend hundreds modifying it,. i'll go another route.

    thanks

This is for a 512 and might be a better choice.

This baby is a 348. Not for a girly man! This baby is heavy!

The 355 has this 3rd port for low rpm emissions. A 348 is big and round like the previous post. It weighs about 100# so build strong brackets.

Most people with a 355 use a Tubi exhaust like this 33# set up.

    Hi Funnywheels,

My buddy Carlo ( know as " The Bull ) on here has a Ferrari 348 exhaust mounted on his Lambo 25th Countach , we weighed it before mounting it..It weighed about 36 pounds if i remember correctly...BTW, it is mounted to a 350 Chev tpi and it sounds nice...

    Cheers,

    Nick C.

Did he use both parts or just the bottom section? If he used just the bottom, without the cats and other stuff, that sounds correct.

My 355 muffler is about 25LBS more than I thought it should have weighed. I used 475# springs in the back rather than 450# because of all of the overhanging tail end weight.
Is a TUBI a lot less in weight than an OEM unit? Why are they so heavy?

All ferrari mufflers are part of the crash system for the rear of the car. It is made of heavy guage stainless steel.

There isn't much back there without the muffler.

    FunnyWheels,

Yes you are correct, he only has the bottom portion slightly modified of course to resemble the countach exhaust with Monza tips.

I've been following the progress of your 355 and it's by far one of the best i've come across so far, keep up the great work. As
soon as i finish my Countach hopefully by fall this year, i want to build an AD kit..

    All the best ,

    Nick C.

Hey funny when I talked to john, he said that the 348 muffy was way off the 355 ti[p location....he had to modify it. Can you tell me the distance between the tip locs on the kit so I can check on the 512 to see ifs a match?
