Thread: out with the veglia and in with vdo!!!

out with the veglia and in with vdo!!!

Well, if you remember me, I was the guy with the veglia nightmare. Update...
I purchased a set of vdo vision serious gauges... kitcar accessaries did a great job of having the horses screened on the speedo and tach... looks awesome! And, with very minimal effort all seven gauges fit perfectly into the oem dash pod and accessary cluster (section above the stereo). I tell you that it was sooooo worth buying the oem dash. I don't think Enzo himself could tell the difference other than one saying veglia and the other saying vdo. It just looks awesome. I don't know why nobody else is doing it.
Thanks for all the advice and kind words from everybody here! Brian. Now to wire them. Any advice on using kitcar accessaries harness over doing it from scratch??? I mean, just for ease and less headaches. It'd just be nice to drive it a few times before winter strikes!

I'd love to see some pics too.. As for wiring the gauges. I've always done them from scratch. I bought a harness years ago and never liked what was available. Maybe there are some different harness now, But I'd do it from scratch. The new quages need new senders so you have to run new wires. New..New..New.. Before you know it the harness is done. ;D
If you need any help I'd be glad to give you some pointers.

Yeah, I'll take some pics soon, but basically just imagine an oem dash with vdo stamped at the bottom instead of veglia. It just works...

I saw this technique at a show about three years ago here in the US. The guy had it done somewhere in SoCal. He also required you to send the part to him. I don't remember the price or any info about him tho.

$60 sounds pretty cheap, maybe it would be better to ship the parts back and forth to save money.
    ;D

    VERY cool modification!
