This number can very by quite a bit. Eveyone builds to a different spec when building a replica. Some people go way over board when reinforcing and some don't have a clue when it comes to any type of reinforment. Some use strictly steel. I on the other hand use aluminum where ever I can. If its not structural then it does not need the extra weight. I use plastics and carbon fiber to line or reinforce along with other means of making something ridig rather than using heavy walled steel tube. So the final weight of a replica can very buy a few hundred pounds pretty easy.
But PitBull gave a good starting number.

Pit Bull, where did you get those numbers? That is great. I am very surprised at the stock kit as the stock Fiero is only about 100 pounds less than that and you add a relatively heavy body on top. Diablo kits range higher of course one was recently weighed in at around 3600 pounds which is still about the same as the real car. I have chassis scales and will be weighing in on the topic before too much longer.

Yeah, I heard somewhere that Mark got hauled away in hand cuffs at the Kitcar show in Carlisle a few years ago. Can anybody confirm or deny that? I dont know for certain.

;D LOL Yeah Bob I heard the same thing! They said he was selling tickets to give away a countach and at the end of the day just before he skipped town. They arrested him at his booth. Just one more con he had up his sleeve.
