    another 355 body mounting thread

There seems to be a lot of new users on this board who are making/drive 355 replicas, and so I thought we should give this thread another try. Anyone have good pictures of the brackets / spacers / hindges used in the mounting of their 355 Body?

Deck Lid Hinge. Use Mitsubishi 3000 GT.

Door Handle Mounting. Use Fiero handle and bend the rod to work the latch.

A contact I ran across about 2 years ago for a good 355 kit is John Watson, Tennga, Georgia. His phone number is 706-328-3311, Home. Give him a call and I will bet he can assist. There is another guy on this site who sells Mirage Kits. I have half of each on my car. Attached is a photo of Johns kit.

    Best of luck.

His car looks good. The wheels are nice, but i wished they were available in 18". I'm wondering about the windshield & bonnet. They seem to have more curve than stock. Am I just imagining?

The hood is an exact copy of a 355 hood; the scoop intake is a separate item as well and can be used on a real 355. The windshield rake is not Fiero, the rake is like that of a real 355 and uses a cut down Dodge Stratus windshield and a filler panel between the bottom of the windshield and the Fireo dash. The wipers need to be relocated for this windshield. Most kits will make the hood longer to meet the Fiero Glass. I did my Mirage that way at first, I am presently installing the new nose on my car (fenders, bumper, hood, windshield). Lot of work to do the proper windshield, John makes both hoods if you don't mind the Fiero windshield.

Does anyone know what is involved with cutting down a windshield? Can most glass companies perform this service? John Watson sent me some pictures of the same car and I really liked how the windshield looked. He said that this was one of his first cars and you can see the rocker panel is not seperate.
