    Large cnc

I am looking for a large 5 axis cnc to cut a plug for a project. Does anyone know of one in New England?

    Thanks

5 Axis machines are not very common. 3 axis machines are used more often thus bringing the price of a 5 axis job up.
Call Chip Fooses shop.. and get a price.. 5axis Motor Sports.. put a pillow under your jaw.

What is 5axis motor sports? I did a search and came up with nothing. Foose doesn't have a large 5, so the person on the phone said.

I forget what the episode was called but it was his first show, showing off his new 5 axis machine. He said it was the third one ever built and it cost 3.5 million. It took up a 1/3 of the shop but he had it. he was milling a foam plug. The ones that have a 5 axis machine are known in the industry. Call Fooses shop back and ask who he sold it to if they no longer have it. They are rare but out there. good luck.

Mike try this company to find one of their customers. Scroll down and look at the Titan machine! That ought to be big enough!

I have a 3 axis cnc that I intend to do some retrofit and make my z axis much higher to carve my own foam buck. If it looks like the retrofit will be too much trouble I will machine the body in pieces and glue together.

    Mike,

That was my original thought using my 3 axis to cut it out. Do you have a five axis head on it? How are you going to get the window flanges and door openings cut with only 3 axis? I am contemplating making a 5 axis out of a parted out machine if the prices I heard on here are correct.
