Is there any way of replicating this?

Is there any way of replicating this on a kit car (MR2 or Fiero)?

    Sure;

Cut up some foam to look like the back couple inches of the trans and mount it to the bottom back of your trunk. Paint it silver and you have your replica rear of the trans.

Don is exactly right.. When he said cut up foam I thought it may be a big pain to get the details right though. Is your Fiero transaxle pulled?
    contact this company. http://www.swdurethane.com/pages/pf_flexfoam.html
they sale silicome that you can pour over the bellhousing to cast a perfect mold of the. just use the portion you want exsposed and you'll even get the bolt holes to show up and you can even put bolts in them.. Oh I jumped the gun a little.. after you pour the silicone over the bellhousing you'll have to pull the mold and fill it with Polyerethane to create your peice. its very stable and the heat won't ruin it. spray silver and bing bango.. it should look really nice. if you do it let us know how it turns out..
    good luck,

That aluminum cover went on ebay a couple months ago for about $50. ohn Hayes was the winning bidder. I thought about buying it and mounting it underneath but it would not be in place under the decklid and look odd not attached to anything.

I didn't do any detail to it. (never finished it)
I have a Ferrrrari Lapel pin, red with silver writing that I was going to add.
I was going to gind the pin part off and glue it on it.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Once I get my kit I might try something like this, as that is quite obvious on the original car.

Forgot to mention what I did:
I painted the engine cradle black and then taped it off and sprayed it with aluminum paint.
    Kinda Easy!

The aluminum trany bellhousing cover is only visible if the stock F355 exhaust is replaced with a smaller muffler or a Tubi muffler....Otherwise the stock Ferrari muffler covers the bellhousing for the most part..

In my opinion is more critical and eye catching to get the correct tail lights fitted because that's the main focal point of the rear of the F355 (not the trany cover)....Almost everyone recognizes a Ferrari when they see those unique round tail lights....Of course if someone wants to add this detail to their replica that's fine but it's not particular visible or useful.

    Keep up the good work

This is when I first painted it and before the eye catching clear taillights,
it was painted a little too big.
