    gated shifter question 2

If I don't want to replace the center console with an aftermarket is there a substitute for getting a functional gated shifter? If not, anyplace I can still purchase the Euroshifter?

I would see if Rob will see ya just the shift gate--get the dimensions and see if it'll go into the area you've got. He's real helpful.

The center console is quite easy to build. A few lengths of 1/2 inch square tubing, some aluminum and a pop rivet gun will do it. If you were to build the top of the console close to the base of the shifter, I feel you can make your own shifter plate out of 1/4 inch aluminum to fit your console design.

Another view. I had an automatic in the car for years until my present configuration. I plan to build a shift gate as part of the presentation. I have one of Rodney Dickman's short euro shifters with a short shift kit on the bell housing. I did that to keep the shift pattern close together.

My goal is to fit this design onto the console I made in 1998.
