    The perfect trunk/decklid hindge!

Yesterday was a beautiful day in Toronto, which I took advantage of by making a trip to my friendly neighborhood junkyard. Found these on a mid-80's Audi Diesel Turbo 4 door sumtin-or-other.

They go up, and away. I like em!

I couldn't find any stock hinges that would work for me, so I ended up making these.

I still haven't figured out how to load a photo to my responses. I used a rear hatch hinge from a 99 Mitsubishi 3000 GT. Very small and strong enough to handle the deck lid of my 355. I mounted it to the 3 inch wide panel that goes between the Fiero doors at the rear of the cockpit where the rear Fiero window mounted. The other part of the 3000 GT hinge mounted to the botton side of leading edge of the deck lid. A John Watson design idea. Worked out just fine.

To post pictures use the link directly above the "members" link at the top of the screen. *Some versions of Netscape don't show that screen completely and everything above the blue bar at the top of the screen is missing. *Here is the link if you can't find it:

    http://www.madmechanics.com/Forum/Upload

*On that screen hit the browse button and find your picture on your computer. *Once you have selected it, hit the upload file button. *Once it is uploaded you copy and paste the text provided into your posting. *

Here is a VW hinge out of a 1984 Fox. This one didn't work well either. I am now using a stock Fiero hood hinge.

I don't have pics,,,,,,,but my 2000 GTP has some trunk hinges that look to be perfect for the hood on the Countach or Diablo! Almost like the first hinge in this string but with a spring.

The Mitsubishi 3000 hinge on the finished product.

Note the very simple prop rod.
