    Convertable info

I found this link off of pennocks, from a guy named Rob. There is some very good information on bracing and fabricating a convertable top for a fiero, has plenty of photos.

That's some pretty creative thinking there Rob. That 'nomohoes' animation cracks me up.

I see that a lot of people are trying to use the sunbird conv. frame but ,I was checking out a neighbours 1991 dodge shadow convertable, and it looked like a good candidate to use.
Has anyone tried to use one of these?? are the sizes close?
    Just a thought!!

    Re: Convertable info

The challenge with most of these tops ( I have tried 4 to date ) is they are either too narrow or too wide. The advantage of using a GM Sunbird top is they are the same "A" post dimensions needed to fit a Fiero windshield. I have been a Salmon trying to swim upstream for the past few years on this. I don't think anyone has come close to getting it correct other than Don Ostergard. I think he will be the ultimate victor in this battle. I have been driving topless for the past year. All I have is a boot full of newspapers at the moment.

If I had it to do over again I would stick with a 355 Berlinetta.

Here's one of my Fiero concepts that I've been working on at Pennock's:

    It's a 6" stretch ( enough for 3800sc/audi? ) with some body mods & fender flares

By the way Boomer your car is looking good.
