    Ferrari 355 headlights

Just outta curiosity, what's everybody using for their Ferrari 355 headlights? The fiero headlights are kinda giveaway that it's a kit car. Has anyone tried to install the real thing? If so, does it open up right?

Real F355 lights? You know I have

Most people that use a lamp other than the stock Fiero lamp, use the late model Ford Probe lamps. They are lower profile and easily found at most junkyards. The height of the ramp when raised is controlled byt he postion of the limiteing tab on the Fiero's lamp motor. Moving it in limits and stops the raising of the lamp shroud. You just tinker with steeings until you get the height you want.

The F355 lamps is wider and much more narrow than the Fiero lamp or even the probe lamp. Custom work must be done for fitment. The end result is a low profile lamp module that doesn't open WAY up when activated. Still looks cool when open. The F355 lamps are two different lamp faces inside the one profile, which is a unique look in itself.

I really need to snap some pics of them for you guys. And the switches and the mirrors and the rear grill and...

    You get the idea...

Anyway, yes, it can be done

DKOV, does your's look like that or close to it?

Is the Ford Probe idea close to looking like that pic, too?

    Re: Ferrari 355 headlights

I have just installed a pair of OEM 355 headlights in my car. I got them from T Rutlands, Tucker, Georgia. $1,000 per pair. New, out of 355 cars that were turned into Challenge cars by Ferrari at their factory. Mine were absolutely perfect, like new, no dirt, scratches etc. I have the detail available and will post as soon as I figure out how to upload a photo to this site. I tried the Mitsubishi, Ford Probe route with a Chevy Corcia bulb, (bulb almost the same shape as 355/348) just did not look correct so I went for the real deal.
If you're not confused, you're not paying attention.
