Help with 355 rear deck lid

I am trying to get my rear deck lid all together. And so far my frame is good and it's spring loaded so it goes up on its own. But I need help with the latch to hold it down. What should I use for this? Anything from another car or?

On another note. I still need to attach my hood or front bonnet. How are you guys doing this? Because to me the way the 355 hood opens where you would think to hindge it , it looks too weak to hold the entire hood. If anyone has some pictures to help me with this. Because I am stuck right now.

My goal is to try to finish this car by summer, but we will see ???

    John:

Please feel free to pop over to Eastlake Woodlands to see my set up. It may help you fit your latches.

I used side mount brackets and latches from a Mercury Capri boot hatch cover to hold down my hood. If you have a long hood you might be able to use your old Fiero latch. I am using the extended windshield so there was no latch area, therefore I had to make one.

Yeah Dave, that sounds good. I could use alittle help from a expert like yourself. I am thinking for the hood/front bonnet I am going to have to build a support skeleton to keep it from flexing and maybe use the factory hood support bar to attach to it. I don't know. I will have to see yours and maybe get some feedback from you. I will post some pictures today to show you my progress. Today I'm sending out the rear deck lid to have all the slots grinded out and smoothed out. Got to take it one piece at a time. East Lake is right down the road from me. I am at Klosterman and Alt. 19.
