    The BEST Porsche transmission?

911, 914, or 915? I'm looking in the 2K dollar range for a good transmission, also I am interested in shift linkages, any idea? My 1uz will be setup like the Ultima-GTR....

I recall the G50 type was on the stronger side if you've got alot of HP. Have you considered the Audi 5000 tranny? JDinner knows about that one.

    Go here... www.renegadehybrids.com
And for Porsche transmissions, get out a big wallet, especially if they have to be rebuilt.

I found a Porsche rebuilder in the USA and average rebuild cost 900 to 1400 which is the same as any toyota transmission, I guess I have a big wallet for my big pants

..,... but thats not upgrading the gears or anyhting, just the simple rebuilds it looks like lol

I believe that was an '80's- '90's car so they're probably stacking up at the wreckers by now.

The Audi can be purchased for between $300.00 and $600.00. It is a great transmission as long as you don't pop the clutch from high RPM.
Here is a WORD document that made describing how I made my adapter plate. This makes everything centered. It should work for every engine, in this case it is for the BMW V-12 and I spaced it out so I could use the stock starter and ring gear.

    Re: The BEST Porsche transmission?

I'm really aiming towards doing it right the first time, which will cost a little more money. i'd like to do like the GTM supercar and use a G50 transmission. I just need to source one, does anyone have any ideas?
