    f40 another question

    This car comes with a beautiful set of Veglia borletti guages- but none of them hooked up. To drive tha car, I wish to install a temporary basic oil pressure, water temp and volt guage for the trip to Mazatlan. Will removing the stock senders for oil press and water temp to put in the temp guages, screw up the running of the motor in any way? Where are the stock senders located? Thanks, Steve. PS I have basic mechanical skills- not familiar with the Fiero V6

    Yes and no. It depends on which sensor you remove on the 2.8, one is for the gauge and on is for the computer input. The one for the gauge is located on the right cylinder head near the rear spark plug.
    The oil pressure switch for the gauge is a cylinder/bell shaped sensor with a single wire. The other oil switch controls the fuel pump circuit, it is a two wire sensor.
    In fact, you can wait on the oil sensor since the fuel will shut off if the oil pressure drops out.
    Connect you voltmeter to any circuit in the fuse panel that becomes live when the engine is on and dead when the engine is off.

    Cheers;
    Jim
