Gas piston used to lift engine lid

Is there anybody that can help with describing what kind of gas piston lift kit they used to hold up engine deck lid? Do not want to reinvent the wheel. Appears 12 inch to 13 inches is the longest it can be but not sure how high the gas pressure needs to be to hold it up. Definitely going to use one on each side.
I know the one they sell for the Fiero engine lid is way to long.

    Thanks

Go here and you can get just about any size. It is easy to do, just take a good yardstick and simulate the open closing length. The three measurements you need are compressed length, extended length, and # force. Plus you need to make sure where you are putting it will clear. Most of them come with ball pivots to make it easy for angles not perpendicular. You might also be able to go to schucks and size something, but you can't specify the # force you need. Eric
