Bell housing to center of axles is 8 1/2 " +-
Bell housing to end is 27 " +- there is a trans cooler on the end of the one I have if you were to move it you might get down to around 25" Hope this helps if I can help later just say so.

Has anyone ever completed this swap in a 355 Ferrari?

It looks like it would work if you put it behind a 3800 Buick or equivalent. Maybe even the Audi V8.
