A lot of questions: Part 1

Well I told my self that if I could not have this done by this year I would sell my baby, this has challenged me to get this thing done. So for the last couple of days iv been working pretty hard on it, but have come up with some questions that maybe some of you have come across as well.

First one is the rear lid. The person that I purchased this kit off of did alot of mickey mouse stuff and one of the things was this bracket on the rear trunk. Now I went to a number of stores in my area to see if I could rig up or weld something to make this work but im confused. So I decided to go talk to my friends that I work with that are engineers on Monday to see if we can come up with something but then I thought hey maybe the forum would have something like this.

This is the original bracket on the car (I dont know what the original fiero hood looked like)

This is what the guy put on the trunk

They dont go together :P I dont mind grinding off what he did but I figured maybe he had a idea of what he was gonna do, I just cant figure that idea out

Next is the exhaust. When I temp place my body on the car I noticed the bottom frame is showing where the exhaust should be did this happen with you guys? if so how did you fix it?

(this is the frame im talking about)

When im going to mount the body im going to be probably using rivets and placing them on the side (like in the picture) and im thinking of welding a 2x2 tube in the back of the car (bottom of second pic) to hold the rear of the body in place, and maybe rivet the body to that metal. What did you guys do?

This is just the beginning I know it. Currently im having trouble with the back part of the body not being center with the wheels and I cant bring it up anymore because its hitting the doors, and the doors arnt going any more ahead because when I open the door all the way it hits the metal body of the fiero. So ya im having fun Buuuut nobody said this would be an easy job, it just sucks I had no prior experience jumping into this but I guess thats how life is. You live and you learn.

Thanks in advanced everyone, I know a lot of you have helped me so much and continue to help me

first the kit you have is for a stretched fiero i believe ,an your chassis does not look like its stretched so check out funnywheels QUICK STRECH, WITHOUT CUTTING THE FRAME ,an it look like a bad strenghting job on the inside of the deck lid just need to add some tubing onthe underside
In the USA if you pay a company / person to start a plug, then it,s your plug and work ,it is not theirs to sell or trade !!

The Front drip rail needs to be removed in order to open the door properly.

The best hinges to use for the deck lid are from a Mitsubishi 3000 GT. About $25 each brand new.

Regarding the trunk. Cut out a square section on each side for your exhaust clearence. Jus make them both the same size and ust the right on on the left and the lefe on the right. They need to be welded in upside down. Then your pipes will clear and you will still have a trunk.

You will need to open the doors. I used the Fiero handles and a "Z" bracket. It has been working well for 10 years.
