    Updated cruise control

I was at a local Fiero clubmeeting a few weeks ago and a couple of the memebers had replaced their cruise control module that runs on vacuum (usually very poorly) with a later model elctronic version. It has been running well for the fellows that have converted so far.

They went through a step by step presentatrion of how to do it.

Is anyone interested in this conversion as I can take a look at transcribing it to pics to post here or figure some way to get it up for everyone. I think it might be up on Pennock's forum somewhere as well but I do have the powerpoint at home.

    Cheers

Don: With the set up your talking about, do you think it will work on my 3800?

At your convenience, please fire off an email to me with the details.

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Re: Updated cruise control

I'll get it done up either later tonight or tomorrow night.

I think it will work ok in your 3800 conversion Dave but you have to confirm the pulses per second as there is a component that has to be put into the circuit from the donor car to ensure the Fiero pulses match up to what the electronic cruise control requires.

It is all put into the presentation if I remember correctly.

    Don:

My guess is that I will need to use the new style spedo sending unit. I will not have a challenge in this area since I need to change the transaxle anyway. I will be using a new style with the correct sending unit. The Fiero will not have the correct pulses per second (too low).

    Re: Updated cruise control

Finally got sorted out on where the info is on this update to the cruise control.

Pennock's has a full thread on it rather than me transferring a power point to images and putting up here. The fellow I have been talking to says do the steps exactly as Darth Fiero says and it will work.

I also have a couple pics that were sent to me.

    Enjoy the conversion.
