I would love to see a bug cabriolet with oversized front and rear arches, chrome running boards, as some one else said make it closer too old school custom beetle stick a vdeck on the back french in some custom tear drop rear lights. dump some big old rims say 295's on the rear

Or possibly merge the design of the 997 cabriolet and the bug together, like a kind of big brother lol

would love to see someone photo shop these up

Not a bad idea!!   I bet all the old school bug people would love that,

You are correct!   it's just that I happen to have one here at the shop, and I'm wondering what I can do with it , or what would work on it. I'll have to check wheel base and get creative.    Thanks.    John

Here is an idea. Rework it to look like the old one. Chrome bumpers, old style headlights, rubber running boards etc etc.....

I like the Beetle GT 997. Not an overkill like the yellow one.

Hi there Pinincoupe,

That Beetle Buggy you photographed in Mexico looks pretty cool although I don't think its a one-off as I have seen pictures of these type of buggies before. I believe they are car hire vehicles, but I have no idea who or where they are made.

It would be interesting if someone in Mexico could share some more info on these cars or kits ? as I am sure there would be lots of people interested on this modern version of the classic Dune Buggy.

I have seen pictures of a Beetle with an Audi TT front that was at a kitcar show a few years back but what about the other way round.

A TT styled Beetle !
