i had an experience with an atheist, she is a fine lady but in helping me at work one day she got frustrated with the computer and said Jesus Christ. of course in vain. to which i replied, it wasn't nice to do so, she replied she was an atheist.

"I suppose you say god dam it too?" Yea on occasion she said....

hmmmmmm i said, why is it you have given Jesus Christ and God so much credibility by using thier name in vain? yet, not budda? not the pope? you didnt even use my name in vain... the mere fact that you do so only proves your fear that he is valid!

Its not a fear that he is valid. It is an automatic response. Why do you call yourself *your name*? Why do you use the words "and" "the" "if" or any other, for that matter? Its all instilled in you early in life. Simple as that, has nothing to do with fear, or even anger. Just a response!  (please note, certianly NOT trying to start an argument, and I absolutely respect your right to believe as you wish (TBH I am very, very happy that all of you guys have someone to turn to, as I sure dont!))

Here is an interesting tie in in my opinion. These are general observations by me. All these people are into ( me included living near Gettysburg) ghosts and hauntings etc...They show pretty good evidence of something being there or sounds or communication with something. I wonder how many believe in that but dont believe in god, a god, some god or something besides the physical world. I mean you sort of cant say you saw a ghost, heard a voice or etc without indirectly believing that something is in control, exists after this or maybe we are all completely insane. Some days i think that is the answer...lol.... Anyhow I welcome the skeptics and the believers. I am working to be more of an active part of this forum.

Hello visitor,
For fear of coming off with a wrong attitude, I hope to word this correctly. The common practice of using Christ, Jesus and God in non worship and sometimes vulgar use, is not automatic. The point powerhouse was trying to make is the fact when people  use those names they could just as easily used Budda, Mohamed, George or Mike. The fact is, they chose those names. Believers know why that happens, but most non believers have no idea, and many if not most would scoff at us for stating why it is done. I think this thread, if maintained in a civil manner will be able to benefit many people and allow the believers of this site to network.

Again with out trying to sound preachy, we will be glad to introduce  you to someone who will be there for you for the duration. I promise you that wiout that relationship my wife and I would not be making is nearly as well as we are. When a person has a terminal illness, and has absolutely no fear of death, there is something to be said for that.

Mike

ps if you are having problems and need someone who will not judge you, pm one of us just to vent if necessary.

Dan I can easily answer that. The "ghost" does not judge those that believe that as being unworthy in their current spiritual condition. I wish I had the freedom to really get into this, but I sure don't want to start a war. Simply put, God said that man in his natural state is not good enought, and that makes most people angry! I know I don't like it when others tell me I am not good enough! Grin

Well, all you christians sound like perfect people.  I believe in the principles I was raised under in the church, but I'm disgusted by all the evil that is propagated by various religions around the world and the people who twist the bible etc. to further their own despicable causes.  I'm not sure that we wouldn't all be better of without any religions when I see the horrors perpetrated in the name of god.  It is very possible to be a good, moral person without religion.  I'll probably be an agnostic forever  because I don't take anything on faith.  I believe in things that can be proven.  I do however envy you the comfort and certainty that you get from your faith.  From what I hear, I don't doubt the sincerity of the posters here and believe that they are people who I can admire and trust.  Not all posers can be.

I will end my christian rant here but your right. Crazy people exist in every nook and cranny of our english muffin. People twist the koran, bible, news paper, financial report, whatever to their advantage or cause. I think the biggest thing religion gives us if we only take it at face value is just that... A Value. A way of saying ok it isnt ok to just kill you because i like your sh*t or just take that woman because she's hot and do whatever because im more powerful, bigger, faster whatever. But as a race, us humans well we will screw up a one car funeral and twist, change or turn a blind eye to reality until it is what we want to see.......Religion doesnt have to be a factor in how insane we are as a race at times.

Is there any other prayer that is needed? How are peoples finances, family situations?

Jesus didn't come to start a religion, but rather to fulfill and to give guidance into the Kingdom.  His love isn't limited to a Sunday morning building, it is available to all who accept it. The overwhelming Peace and Joy that consumes keeps me centered in His tangible love.

A client brought in a new piece today, I think it will be perfect for me to start the HOW-TO section I mentioned yesterday. With this piece I will make a guide for the following:

MOLDS:

-Quick Molds (aka: splash mold or a "splash")
-Plug Finishing (aka: a "buck")
-Medium Temp Production Molds (aka: LTM Tooling)
-Vacuum Bagging
-Part Assembly (trimming, bonding, finishing)

He has a point, this thread should be moved to off-topic thread.

Enjoi,

Sugggest we have this thread moved and you start a fresh thread for the mold how-to stuff.  And I appreciate you being here btw, for the how-to and the spiritual aspect.

I noticed the "off-topic" section earlier this morning but haven't found a link that allows me to move this thread from "general kit" to "off topic".  Can anyone that is well versed with this forum offer any help with the move?

I will start the HOW-TO section later in the day, I still need to map out the simplistic way of the outline and take pictures of the piece that was dropped off.

Also, is it alright to use a third party picture host to post pictures, or is there a forum policy about posting pictures? I don't see a link within my profile, so I hope it is alright to use an outside source (photobucket, tinypic, etc.).

Powerhouse has the ability to move the thread.. And You can link the pictures here.. Click the 2nd tool bar above the smileys to insert the IMG code and paste picture link between the IMG tabs in the thread..

"God dam it" is not taking the lords name in vain, it's asking that he/she preform an act.

Hello all,

I've been a distant member since 2007, being pulled away just after signing up and have finally had an opportunity to return and begin posting.  I have been an active Christian for the past 6+ years and am here to help.  I wanted to see if there are any other strong believers here and wonder if there is anything that we can do together to make this forum as enjoyable as possible.  I am not here to force my faith upon anyone, but rather, to be His hands and to help anyone that I have the capacity to.

As public forums were created to help each other, I in the same way want to help in anyway that I can.  I was reading through some posts and have found a few topics that I'd like to start reaching out to.

CJ

Well, welcome back to Madmechanics.  The subjects of religion or politics are always going to cause a contraversy and a bit of a stir.  As Turmite posted, I too am a Christian.  No, I'm not perfect, no I'm not Holier than Thou.  But then again being a Christian is not about being perfect, not about living without mistakes or transgressions.
