Well, welcome back to Madmechanics.  The subjects of religion or politics are always going to cause a contraversy and a bit of a stir.  As Turmite posted, I too am a Christian.  No, I'm not perfect, no I'm not Holier than Thou.  But then again being a Christian is not about being perfect, not about living without mistakes or transgressions.

I agree with this, the only perfect one is Christ.  And in regards to humility, even James (the great) considered himself a bond servant, this is a true reflection into our call to serve others and to be humble in our walk.

It is a pleasure to be here with all of you... believer or not, I am here to serve and fellowship with this community.

Hello visitor,
For fear of coming off with a wrong attitude, I hope to word this correctly. The common practice of using Christ, Jesus and God in non worship and sometimes vulgar use, is not automatic. The point powerhouse was trying to make is the fact when people  use those names they could just as easily used Budda, Mohamed, George or Mike. The fact is, they chose those names. Believers know why that happens, but most non believers have no idea, and many if not most would scoff at us for stating why it is done. I think this thread, if maintained in a civil manner will be able to benefit many people and allow the believers of this site to network.

Again with out trying to sound preachy, we will be glad to introduce  you to someone who will be there for you for the duration. I promise you that wiout that relationship my wife and I would not be making is nearly as well as we are. When a person has a terminal illness, and has absolutely no fear of death, there is something to be said for that.

Mike

ps if you are having problems and need someone who will not judge you, pm one of us just to vent if necessary.
You didnt come off wrong at all!
I fully understand what you are saying, however, It really IS automatic. The saying is NOT "Budda" or "Mohamed" It is "Jesus Christ" that we hear from a young age. if you heard the aforementioned names, it would be that name you used. Its just a commonly used vulgarity here. As for your offer to introduce me, I respectfully decline, thank you though! and the pm offer is very generous, and I am certianly here if you would need anything in return!

For the skeptics, unbelievers and believers alike, the Bible states that Faith... is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

If you stop to think about it, it is amazing that the simple, unassuming birth of a peasant boy born over two thousand years ago in the Middle East has caused such commotion -- His birthday even causes traffic jams today in places around the world.

You may have never realized that every time you check your calendar or refer to a date or write one down, you are using Jesus Christ as your reference point. Because of Jesus, history is divided into BC (before Christ) and AD (anno Domini, in the year of the Lord). Every other event in history and every event on your calendar today is dated by how many days and years it has been since Jesus Christ appeared on earth.

Even "your" birthday is dated by "His" birthday.

God's gift to you (us) has three qualities that make it unique. First, it is the most expensive gift you'll ever receive. It's priceless. Jesus paid for it with his life. Second, it's the only gift you'll ever receive that will last forever. Finally, it is an extremely practical gift -- one you'll use every day for the rest of your life.

God planned your birth, and before you were even born, He knew this moment was coming. In fact, it may be that all your whole life up to this moment has been preparing you to receive God's gift to you.

To compliment Murcenaryīs word........and the most important of all, its an undeserved gift, itīs just because of Godīs grace. And understanding the true meaning of Godīs grace is understanding your purpose in life.

I donīt bother to some comments here, because before beeing a beleiver I thought and said the same way. One should not bother at all, you have spread the seed, now rest and let the holy spirit make it grow, in his time and thru who he wants. Jesus wants us to spread the gospel, and not convince one to it. Convincing will come only thru the Holy Spiritīs touch.

Just my thoughts about the Gospel

Well to make a long story short I used to be an atheist and lived that way for sometime and it wasn't exactly the way I had thought it would be so I became a christian one I had realised I was going backwards in life instead of forward. I will admit I'm still working on quite a few things in my personal life but I'm getting there slowly.

Somethings are not meant for certain people. Whatever works for you I'm all for it. I don't judge anybody.

I really think if I didn't make that choice back in 07 I probably wouldn't be here today posting on this forum. Roll Eyes

Were are so happy that you made that choice my friend and we're not the only ones.

But you hit it right on the head... it is a CHOICE.

...You made the right one.

Congratulations.

I ran accross this post by a lady named Verna Perry that pretty much says it all... it has been read by many as you can see:

So what was the message today? 03/28/10

I was wondering to myself after Church today what words God is giving different regions of the earth and thought that this would be a great place to share.

The Gate Church of the High Desert:
- Watch, Listen, Pray.  Todays message was a teaching from Matthew, about Jesus' given guidance to not fall to the desires of the world, but rather to encourage and lift up the will of God.  God loves us indeed... may His glory shine upon the Earth.

Here today:
"Is your heart strenghen in Jesus? Did you go to church because you love Jesus or you wanted to do a trade with him?
Are you constant or like the ones that where praising Jesus when he entered Jerusalem and one week later where shouting to crucify him?"

Triumphant entry, Via Delarosa, road to Golgotha. Leading up to the Easter Story.

Cars Always remind me of God. Cars are good to get us to the points we need to be. Some people choose not to use them, some choose to abuse them and some loose there life in them. Life stinks at times, but we get back into the cars and go where we need to go. The facts are, the cars are there wanting to be used, we just have to accept it.

The difference is God actually cares for us and he guides our steps in life.
