Most of the cutline is concealed within the doorjambs or along the tape stripe -

Temporaried up with lights and plate and fuel system to be legal - Adding some bracing for the scary cantilevered fuel tank! Have to change that or make a fuel cell.

Driving again, quasi-legal (no plate light yet) - passed some city and county cops today; got a once-over but no problem. Picked up my 8-yr-old son after school today - Cool!

You have to love driving a car that is in mid project state! My friends all thought I was crazy when I drove my first "project car" to work, after they saw the finished results they stopped harassing me about driving a beat up hoopty

How does that Kelmark handle with the Chevy 350 in it? Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing more of your project.

Handling's pretty good - I haven't really pushed it, but there's little body roll even wth no anti-sway bars. Have never really even gotten it to break loose! That's one of the reasons I don't want to just stack the Caddy on top of the axle with the Eldo setup.

The Kelmark actualy looks cool with those center mounted temporary tail lights and the engine out for all to see.. You are always driving the car around missing large body parts and showing off all the amazing custom fabrication work you have done to the car.. 8)
You should almost modify the doors to be like GT40 doors or Enzo/McLaren F1 doors since the only drawback left to the looks of the car is the wide trim around the door glass.. I think McLaren F1 inspired doors would realy stand out and enhance your other modifications.. Dont get me wrong, your car looks great and the doors are fine just as they are, but you could do them so much better with your amazing custom fabricating skills..

Thanks - and for the pix. If I do funny doors, I'd like to do center-pivoted up into the roof like an old MB 300 SL.

Buddy saw me yesterday and said I should make a stake-bed pick-up body - nice varnished oak and all!

I've been caught up in boring stuff - but have designed my 4-bar hinges for the back. I got the gas springs on my tilt front last night - makes that cool sssshhhhhhhK sound as it slowly opens.

Also - been noodling about stretching the wheelbase and "hips" of the car back ~4" to give more room for the new drivetrain (and me in front of it). Ten minutes with MS Paint allowed me to check out the new proportions, and also moved the scoop forward to be over the carbs.

She works! Now I'm reinforcing around the struts (2 X 150#), tuning my "fit" and preparing to bodywork-in the trunk lid and hood.
