Down here the H6 only comes in the Outback and Liberty, does the WRX one have a turbo ?

I'm preaty sure that all WRX had turbos in them down here. 2011 STI model is rated at 305

I beleive you would be correct.
Now here is something to ponder about. If the 2.5l is boosted from 170 to 305hp, how much the 265hp 3.6l can produce if it would be boosted ?

In order to finish one, you would have to start one!!! how about you quit talking and do something!!!

Iguana, sorry about the hijack, some of us are getting tired of his talk.

                    You have a cool project.

Re: The Iguana - It seemed like a good idea at the time ...

In line with my hatred of the L Bug screen on the Iguana there was reports of a large amount of scrap steal exiting my shed in the last 24hrs and more than a few grinding wheels being reduced to dust ....

Right now when we first started the Iguana Build the intent was to use an off the shelf dash setup to make it easier to get heating / air con / padded dash etc BUT we ran out of time and it was all too hard.

This has always bugged me and I knew it was not going to be economical to do but heck this is my Iguana and I can do what I like.

So I bought a front cut from MX5Plus.com.au, got it home and started cutting.
It became pretty clear that the MX5 was more than a little wider than an Iguana so I was going to need to gain some width somewhere.

At first the plan was to cut the MX5 at floor level and fit it onto the pan fire wall and all. I tried fitting it on and ended up putting the Iguana Roll cage back on to try and get some prospective

I removed the front clip so I could at least sit it on

                          hmm gunna be tight

So I sat and pondered and thought you know what I really need ? some sort of proportional jig to give me a prospective on what I am looking at. Now what have I got around here that I can use and will fit ?

mmmm dunno guess I will just have to make do with what I have, an Iguana body .. but damn how am I going to fit that around an MX5 Halfcut thingy ...

Guess it will need some modifications

                            Now we have a jig...

Re: The Iguana - MX5 Wisdscreen A/C and heating going in

So the issue with the floor pan halves being powedercoted etc was soon fixed by turning up the air pressure on the plasma ... Bye bye pan halves ....

With the old floor pan out it was time to get some new ones in, just 4" wider :smokin: so I went with one piece folded 2.1mm mild steel tread with a 70mm lip folded on

Once they were folded it was in for a test fit and then back out for a trim to suit.

After the trim, back in to test the body lines.

Once happy with the fit I started tacking the pan half in place and checking alignment as I went.

Now it was in I think I might have to take a few minutes to tidy up the work bay, damn thing looks like a bomb has gone off ..

Re: The Iguana - MX5 Wisdscreen A/C and heating going in

Well with the mess cleaned up and more than a few hours of work between now and having this Buggy done it was time to get back into it. So with the 1st floor pan tacked in place it was time to set the front end up and see what sort of issues I was going to have with wheel clearance.

Before I could do this I needed to get the MX5 clip in place and square so as to ensure the inner guards would accommodate the 235 x 85 x 16" rubber.

Prior to cutting the pan half out I had tried several methods of getting it in place but the big issue I found was if I added braces then I couldn't get the seat in and thus couldn't check positions.

After thinking about it for a while I decided to set up a ladder and use a counter lever setup from the front, thus leaving the pan / body area free from obstructions.

The ladder idea worked like a treat and allowed me to setup up the front sheet metal and test seating and visibility Got to do some knotts while I was at it.

As I will soon be without a Box while Todd gets the Pinion sorted for a 6 speed I have started doing the other fun jobs on my to do list.

1st up is the power stuff and making it all run. I pulled the loom out of the Outback Half cut so I could start getting rid of the bits I no longer need ...

Man it is a big loom ....

Oh one other thing I did get done was picking up of my new wheels and tyres. With my current spat of body mods the old new ones where no longer suitable as they were bought to suit a Mk1 Iguana not a Mk2.

So a big thumbs up must go out to Ryano at Fourbys ( http://www.fourbys.com.au) for sorting me out some new rims and rubber to suit.

                                I am nor running 33 x 12.5 x 17 rears and 265 x 70 x 17 fronts

The 17" should help clearing the 4 pot callipers I have coming in
