  • Maserati MC12

    Hi guys.

Thought its time for a new build thread

I have a choice of three, SLR Mercedes, 250SWB, but the MC12 keeps on winning.

So far the computer work is done, & i will start the body buck in the next few weeks.
Power plant wise, I will be using the same setup as with the Zonda, But with a different v12, cant fit a Mercedes to a Maserati, it just seems wrong.
More than likely will be fitting a Lexus v12 with itb's. That also seems wrong, but there's no chance finding a Maserati v12.

    Cheers

The Maserati looks like a winner to me!

What happened to the zonda? Did you finish it? Do you have an update on it? It was my favorite build!

      Casper,
The Zonda stood for a while, but it is almost ready to get back on its wheels. With some new R wheels, and quite a few upgrades since last.
I had to change the whole rear frame, just to accommodate the wider rear wheels, & Im busy fitting individual throttle bodies at the moment. There are some pics my site.

Looking forward to the mc12, finally something new

        Why not a Maserati v8 and f1 transmission from a quattroporte ?

          Hi Cutlass442
The v8 is a option in the back of my mind, but with the size of the car, the v8 will look lost in the big space to fill.
I had the same idea with the zonda, v8 twin turbo, & with the v8 fitted there was so much space around it that it just looked out if place.

          Plus the v12 sounds great

Neat project! I would love to see you do a bugatti eb110 as well.
              Have you considered a 6.0L xjs v12?

Jag's v12 is more of a cruiser engine than a power plant, also it's older than the dinosaurs. Noble's proved that real power is with a turboed v6. I love v8's and 12's but with emissions and forced induction v6's have more potential lb for lb. The Germans produced a better v12 than us Brits.

Thats what i was going to say:-)
I much prefer the modern engines.

A link to the A6 i did a while back that was featured in another mag.
Shes still going strong, but i had to give her a repaint due to a argument the owner had with a lamp post....

If you'd consider v10s the audi s6/s8/rs6 would be great choices.
