A little more on the trunk lid
I built a base for it , makes it a lot easier to work on and it holds it in the right place , it was flexing while sanding
This piece came out really rough after the weird glass kicking off too early thing , so it's taking me a while to get it looking sweet , all those pesky corners to sand and make the same.
it's almost ready to take a part off .

Hey Phil;
I assume you will be taking a part from this which will end up being the actual mold piece that will be used to make more inner hatch pieces? If this piece is the mold, I am right back to confused after our discussion on how this is going back together.....Haha
Take care and talk soon

Hi
A little more on the trunk area . after tons of bodywork to rescue the part , it's now been primed and painted , it's not perfect but it's really just a copy of the back of the trunk area so I can work on the trunk off the car . so now i will mold release this and make a fiberglass part to represent the back of the car at the proper angle so I can start building the top louvered part of the trunk .

Here is a link to the saw I built .

this foam should help speed things up with the car , it's Polyurethane an I can fiberglass right over it . Stay tuned !!!

Hi
Been busy as usual , last posts on the car were about the rear trunk lid .
This was the part that I had trouble with and had to do a bunch of bodywork too .
I made a copy of the back of the car so I could build the trunk lid off the car .
This below is splitting the two apart
This is the replica below of the back of the car where the trunk lid goes
So now it is easy to walk around and reach .

Time for an other update , still plugging away in the forest on the Falcata , we had a huge wind storm here on the Island last night , yes you guessed it power got knocked out again , seems like the only time I get to update is when the power gets knocked out at the shop in the forest .
So I have been busy remaking all the pieces I had made in the blue foam with a few changes along the way .
Here I taped a couple of strips of wood on the foam and ran it in the planer to make a taper , seemed to work out , these pieces are to make the big piece that goes across the back thicker and have a taper

and along the way was working on the attachment points , originally I was going to use the factory hatch hinges to hold the rear clam shell down but found it really difficult to access the bolts with the top on .
So if you are racing the clock with bonding compound to attach the roof this might prove to be a problem .
So I came up with a new idea to bolt the rear down using the rear strut mounting location , now there will be a foe vent to hide the fasteners .
I try to use the lasers and grids to insure thing are staying symmetrical , this car has so much shape its like working on an egg all the time !!!

Also been working on the trunk lid outer , the louvers and how they will blend into the rear deck , I know Don might be confused again lol . Now I can have the foam at any thickness I have made the rear deck thicker this affects the trunk , so I have been working on the rise and run of the louvers .
