Roof Scoop , this sounds easy to make ......first the cardboard mock up then foam board , we can't get the green foam board you guys in the US get which you can glass right over , the blue stuff melts with just about anything you touch it with , so i cover it with tinfoil first , what a pain , because it's great to work with you can cut shape sand all very easily .
The roof scoop is just for the cool factor plus it helps keep the roof rigged , and will be removable to change the windshield if required , and house the third brake light .

next is closing off the trunk opening , I made a sheet of thin fiberglass to cut out the pieces to fit the edges , I laid out strips to cut then realized that they needed to be weird shapes to fit , so i made patterns with bristle board first , i used little strips of fiberglass to hold it in place then glassed the edge . i used 2 layers of chopped mat to make the sheet , it's very flexible and works great .

More pics of the rear hatch trunk area , the piece with the slats will be the bottom half of the trunk lid , it will get trimmed around the edge leaving a standing seam to hold the weather seal .
I had to fill the hole in to make the rear cover so i decided it might as well be the part that goes there .

I got inspired to build this Re-body Kit for the Z a few years ago , I had a friend who wanted a Vaydor but didn't want to pull the trigger on getting one until he saw one in person .
So we flew to Tampa to Visit Matt McEntegart at Vaydor from Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada ( couldn't get any farther away unless Matt was in the Key's )
We thought the Vaydor was Awesome ,we attended a Hot Import Nights car show where Matt's Vaydor was the feature , the next day we went to meet Matt at his shop , super nice guy , gave us the tour and answered all our questions.
Everything was great !! But the logistics weren't , the Canadian dollar against the USD , was like 37 cents on the dollar at the time also distance to ship etc .
So on the way home ( several flights ) I got to thinking , hey I have some skills I should build my own Kit .
Well my hat is off to Matt McEntegart , he is one seriously talented dude !!!! the master of foam and creativity .
I picked the 350Z because I am a Nissan guy and Matt's car was based on the G35 , there are lots of doner cars , plus the Zed is excellent bang for the buck , it's wheel base is 8 inches less than the G35 .
The plan is to build the kit so the average guy can install it with basic tools and skills .

Getting started I built a dust collection system that spins 360 degrees because as we all know fiberglass dust is no fun , next was to build some wooden wheels to simulate the new wide ones to help with clearances and fender lips . the rear hatch and window is deleted and replaced with a smaller trunk lid .
