I have been working on getting the interior panels done. I still have the doors and console to make. I'll post some images of the progress soon.

I have been spending the majority of my spare time working on my interior panels. Here is an update how I am going about it.
I started off by producing the panels that surrounds the seating area. To make the basic shape I used the yellow insolation foam that you find at Home Depot and putting the sections together with spray glue.Attached FilesComment

When you buy this type of insulation it has a foil paper over it. I just peal it off so it will sand very easy.
I have used the blue or pink foam in the past but I like this stuff better. It sands very smooth and is easier to clean up.Attached FilesComment

Once sanded, any cracks and voids were filled with light weight spackling compound. The spackling compound needs to sit overnight before you can lightly sand it.Attached FilesComment

At this point, I could fiberglass directly over these pieces. Although I glued a layer of aluminum foil over it. The aluminum foil allows the foam to be removed from the part once the fiberglass has cured. To make it even easier, I also rub a coat of parting wax over it.Attached FilesComment

After allowing the pieces to cure for a few days. They were removed from the car and the foam removed.
I then smoothed the rough fiberglass and applied a layer of body filler to level them out nice and smooth.
They will still need a little trimming here and there since the carpet isn’t installed yet. Otherwise they will be ready for padding and leather.Attached FilesComment

Today, I’m working more on the door panels. I started them a while back by cutting out a piece of Masonite for a base. I will build them up using foam and then fiberglassing over it all.Attached FilesComment

Since the 430 door is taller than the Fiero It was necessary to build up the interior panel with a fiberglass section to hold the weatherstrip in place.Attached FilesComment

Currently working on the console. It's made from Masonite and fiberglass. I don't know if I will be able to use an OEM shift gate. The Fiero shift assembly doesn't line up correctly. Too bad though, it would look good on there.Attached FilesComment

looks good bud!! please try to keep that shift gate. it's the biggest tell on kits, when you can have the most accurate dash, but then the shifter and the gate are all wrongPosted via HTC or Windows 10. Images hosted on [url]www.PixelsBin.com[/url].Comment
