I can't believe that! I thought I would avoid this by plastering my name across the images. Apparently not.

I figured so too... but I am redoing the powerhouse site with a little bit of a new look. I am also looking at some new software to encrypt everything including the print functions, view source and ability to save photos or any part of the website for off line viewing. basicly the only way to see anything once it is done is to view the site.

                Re:SCAM KIT CAR SITE!!

Well, I wouldn't go that far. A sight like that has got to have something very special for me to put up with losing functionality like that. I personally don't like other people deciding I don't need to print something or I don't need to use any of the functions available by right clicking (because they are afraid I will use one particular function I can't use any?) I usually avoid sites like that. Besides, no matter what you do you can only make it more difficult for someone to take you pictures, not impossible.

                  Re:SCAM KIT CAR SITE!!

I honestly understand your view but, i kind of beg to differ... when it is tough enough to find a good replica ... especially ferrari, A prospective consumer would do the best they can to find it. Including revisiting the site and emailing questions.

I dont view it as restricting your ability to take my photos or my content, I view it as protecting my business. It would be no different than taking your kit splashing it and under cutting you. I am in it to represent legit businesses such as yourself to ensure that that specific product is properly promoted and represented by the truthful owner/creator/manufacturer. Your kit is exactly that yours.. not some joe who will take it splash it and benifit from your hard work.

So setting the site up to help deter fraud, as it has happend. I think is a plus. Afterall you cant just "Take" the sign off a retail store-front just because you like the way it looks. Similar to what some clown has already done to me.

If potential customers get upset then I need to deal with that on a case by case basis. The print funtion may be one that needs to be retained, however copying my source code or Photos I am not in favour of. A manufacturer knowing that the information displayed on the Powerhouse will be secure, I feel is a plus. Not to mention with some of the replicas "secretly" under development, should hopefully make the Powerhouse site very special in the fact that a few new up and coming designs will be exclusive to the Powerhouse site as a means to finding them.

                    Re:SCAM KIT CAR SITE!!

Please don't misunderstand me. By all means do whatever you feel necessary to protect your images. I'm just saying I wouldn't do all that. It is the "feature" of disabling the right mouse button that particularly annoys me. You not only disable the "Save Image As" option, but all other options too. And it still won't keep people from saving your images. Plus, if someone wants to save my pictures for their personal viewing pleasure or print my page for reference, then that is fine. Using my pictures as examples of their work isn't though. But I watermark them and have a copyright notice. That is all I'm prepared to do.
                    Just my opinion, that's all.

Unfortunately all the images of the products are not mine to freely allow to be copied. They are on my site with permission from the owners of those photos but otherwise Cool... we are cool

Well... technically then, the Lambo pic that is the basis of this is really an infringement to begin with. Stealing if from Dan who stole it from Lambo.

Then again, isn't this the essence of what we are doing anyway? KIT CARS!!!

How can we get upset for duplicating a picture of a car that is not ours to begin with while building replicas of cars without lisence?

Kinda funny when you think about it.

When asked by my wife why there are so many dishonest people scamming folks in the "kit car" industry... I had to laugh and answer her, "it's the foundation of this market. Even the 'honest' people driving and building these cars are Liars and Thiefs"

                        LOL!!!!

Funny... but a very good point! the banner for the ad was actaullt put together by me in photoshop. But none the less the originals in which i uset them from is from lambo, koenigsegg and Ferrari... however the kits are another story. they belong to the rightful owners/builders and I am fortunate to have physical photgraphs of them to use.

DAMN......... WE ARE ALL A BUNCH OF THIEVES LOL 8)
