  • 355 rear quarter windows

I'm looking to replace my rear quarter windows with authentic Ferrarri glass...
I would like to purchase the glass and rubber moulding... can someone please
refer me to a Ferrari dealer or ???? to purchase a pair.

Also, does the AD355 kit use Ferrari glass? or something else.

Lastly, if anyone has this glass out of a car - I would very much like to talk
with them... I have a couple dimensional questions that I'd like to ask.

    thanks

    Dave,

Yes, the AD kits are made to accept the real Ferrari glass.  My glass is already in the car and was when I got it so I can't offer more help then that.

Call John Watson. He and Jim are putting real Ferrari glass in Jim's car. I saw them when I was down at Jim's. At that point they were not in the car so I'm sure they can give you some dimensions. They are a perfect fit in the AD.

I spoke with John Watson... who referred me to Ferrari of Atlanta... who
quoted me $560 each... If anyone has another option, please let me know.

Maybe John should work on getting some of these out of Australia like he did the windshields...

why does it make economic sense to buy glass way out in Aussie?  I dont get it.

Are glass manufacturers in the states are so much higher that shipping/customs wont offset it?

                  Re: 355 rear quarter windows

I called Ferrari back to see if I could just buy the rubber moulding... and make my own
plexiglass or lexan or something... but they said the rubber moulding and glass was sold
                  as one unit...

Anyone have any ideas as to how to get the moulding? or how to make it?

Any limo company has someone cutting glass for them, call one in your area and see if they can help.

the cost effectiveness has to do with the dollar exchange rate between our countries and the fact that i work alone and don't look for huge profits.

I get that trev, but shipping and customs has to be what the items cost alone... huh?

I was trying to get badging and lights in from Saudi Arabia and customs and shipping literally killed the deal

                          pete

customs is a bit of a problem but freight is kept low due to volume , if i sent 2 windshields in a crate it costs the same as sending 25 in the same crate. works on cubic space . Australia has a very good relationship with the states in trade agreements, actually as of next january it becomes a free trade agreement .
so there are various reasons, but the world has become a lot smaller.
there is a lot of specialised things now being made here for you guys and have you noticed how many big movies are now made here and in new zealand, although i think south africa now has the inside running with the cheap labour and exchange rates
