            Re: ? for funnywheels.........

Sorry for my ignorance, but I have not been following the discussions on the windshields (and I'm not about to read the entire discussion).....What is the problem with the Fiero windshield?? Is the windshield posts not at the right angle or the glass is too flat?? or something else??

            Thanks

If you spent a few minutes reading you'd be able to answer your own questions. Fiero glass is not curved at the bottom enough, but in order to use the new style curved glass you must have the shorter hood and use the dash extention tray. moving the wipers is also needed. READ!

                Re: ? for funnywheels.........

Windshield is too flat to look oem.  The new windshields that were sent from Australia make all the difference in the world for looks.  Really finishes the car off nicely.

In my opinion, worth the ~$500 US for the glass and dash extension.  Now, if we could only figure a more cost effective way to get them shipped into Canada...  I priced out shipping and after exchange to be up in the $1000 CDN mark. :-[

                  Re: ? for funnywheels.........

Thanks for the explanation guys...now that wasn't too hard to understand....

In my hobble opinion and limited experience with replicas, the bigger difference in the "looks" dept. (next to having an authentic looking body work) is the INTERIOR....sorry but I do not find the difference in looking at the windshield all the dramatic and to the casual observer, there's little difference looking at the Fiero and the F355 stock windshields....Unless of course the cars are parked next to each other!!

However, one look in the interior of some of the Fiero-based replicas and it's a dead giveway...I think someone with a limited budget can benefit greatly by changing the interior before spending money on an "authentic-looking" windshield (that can potentially be almost impossible to get another one if ever cracked)....I know that doing the interior is more expensive that $700 (windshield + tray), but my choice would have been replicating the interior....he Fiero interior looks so dated especially the dash...

But I can understand why Dave and others who are building very special cars and pay attention to every detail would spend a few $$ on the windshield upgrade...It looks very nice in the photos and I'm sure it looks even better in real life....I personally think their cars look fantastic with or without the upgraded windshield.

                  All the best
