  • F40 rear end pulling to the right

My F40 has the Northstar motor in it, new KYB shocks, bushings etc. The car has not yet had the alignment done after the new suspension parts were put in. when accelerating the rear end pulls to the right, will the alignment cure this, or is something else going on here?

If the car did not do this before replacing all these parts then most likely an alignment will fix this issue.

Re: F40 rear end pulling to the right

If it is a 1988 lower rear suspension then the bushings have gone soft. I made a set for a friends car out of UHMD plastic, problem solved.
If it is pre-1988, You may need to add in an extra strut. I did this on my countach years ago to solve the problem. I used 5/8" Rod Ends and a long 5/8" threaded rod. It bolted a hole in the bottom of the strut for the sway bar, if it had one. The other end was bolted to the engine cradle close to the front frame mount.

The wide rear tires end up controlling the rear suspension. Do the alignment and the above suggestions will help if the problem still exists.
