  • someone put my LS1 inkake manifold on backwards...lol..... please help

when running a LS1 in a mid engine application attached to a porsche tranny, what do I have to do to turn the intake mani backwards so the TB faces the rear....is it just a R&R or is there more to it? thanks

Apparently on the ls1 you can use a fitting to re-direct the one sensor in the way. Otherwise you hav eto get soem welding done. Archie does a good job of showing you on this page (near the middle)

It's a simple flip around. Change the oil sensor fitting so it can clear. There is also a small coolant tube that needs to be extended too. I suggest an air bleed vent in this tube to get rid of the air during filling.

Just get the complete for Painless for the drive-by-wire system. It has everything you need to make it run.

wouldnt it be better to just eliminate the driveby wire....painless make a kit for that, and then you wont have to get the specific pedal....thats what we used to do when swapping the 08 engines in our hondas

most of the places that offer these kits have them setup for drive by wire, the pedals are common so they aren't expensive from a junk yard. The place V8-Archie uses to get his harnesses made is http://www.hotrodlane.cc/ They will make the harness, including extending the wiring to the pedal (Archie uses 8 feet there) and program the computer that runs it for you.
