Longer Fiero cables - Throttle and tranny, what are you guys doing?

What are people doing for throttle and tranny cables after the 11" stretch on a Fiero? The brake line seems like a no brainer, I have brake line and brake flairing tools, so that should be pretty easy. The parking brake seems pretty straight forward, either re-locate or fab up a rod to lengthen.

I have read the usual websites about stretching, lots of good info but I didn't see anything that addressed the throttle and tranny cable? My 85 is a V6 with an auto tranny. Just wondering if there is a company that you guys could steer me to so I can get these ordered up?

Order the cables through West Coast Fiero. They will make any length you require.

Do most if not all, just say 11" longer than stock or would you recommend something different?

You can purchase the cables from Push and Pull out of Cali. very high quality at a fair price. The shift cables are a little long if you ask for a 11" inches over stock. I would suggest maybe 8 or 9 would work a little better. My oem length throttle cable fit okay.

So if I'm understanding you correctly you used your stock OEM thottle cable after you stretched it? And you only need a longer tranny cable?

My throttle cable stretched out fine but the shifter cable didnt. I ended up just eliminating the shifter cable period and running this retrotek push button unit. Im rigging up the control module to work with my Egear plate. I'll post pics when Im done.

On my 7 inch stretch, the throttle was fine. For the trans cables, I cut them at the front, and welded a piece of threaded rod in between. WIth a long nut, I can then make minor adjustments if needed. I also cut the rear of the shifter off, and welded it on the transmission tunnel 7 inches back. Just be sure that you don't put it where you need something else to be. I put mine right where my power windows switches were supposed to go. Oops...
