  • Open or closed loop?

;D On Pennock's Forum the question was asked.

How do you check to see if the engine goes from open to closed loop?

    The answer was.
My neighbor has the computer scanner for his fiero that shows the data collected by all the sensors in the car. It showed when the car switched to closed loop. Unfortunatly it also cost about 300.00 to buy and you barely get to use it.

I did answer the question but was ignored.

You can check to see if it goes from open to closed loop by going into "Field Service Mode".
On the ALCL (Assembly Line Communication Link)jumper terminal "A" to "B".

With the engine running the check engine light will flash at rate of 1 per sec in "Closed Loop".

With the engine running the check engine light will flash at rate of 2.5 per sec in "Open Loop".

    This method is much cheaper.
Hope this will help others on Ari's Forum.
