??? I have converted and upgraded the rear brakes on an 86 Fiero. Problem is, since they are front brakes, I now have no emergency. I have heard of using a Jamar [sp?] brake switch. Anyone done this? I had read info reciently, but now can't locate it. thanks

Re: Anyone used a Jamar e-brake switch?
I have that line lock, I think….. :
I haven’t installed it yet, waiting till I’m through with the interior so I can decided exactly where to put it.
It hooks up in-line at the master cylinder.
I’m going to put it on the front wheels only.
I would like to be able to lock up the fronts and burn rubber. ;D
Doubt the rear will let lose with so much rubber back there.
A friend has a V6 355 replica and we couldn’t get it to spin, even with detergent.
Using the brakes to try to get it started didn’t work, the front brakes would lockup and the rear would just push the light front end. It was very comical, the car going forward with the front wheels not moving and squealing across the pavement. What is really funny, ;Dwe video taped it.

Re: Anyone used a Jamar e-brake switch?
Dale, I tried using the Jamar manual e-brake switch and Ontario safety would not pass it. As well, the push/pull button kept releasing, not very reliable if parked on a hill!!! I finally replaced the Rears with 6000 STE heavy duty calipers, rotors and e-brake cable links. The calipers look almost the same as the Fiero's. Pissed me off as I now have some brand new calipers,pads/cross-drilled rotors off the rear, now just spares for the fronts!!! If you want the Jamar unit, I'll send it you.
