355 Kit (Non fiero or MR2)

Hi guys, I am new to these forums, but I have been doing a bit of research on kit cars for quite a while now. I would really like to make a 355 (or even an F40). But due to the fact that I live in Australia it is not really a viable option for me to just re-body a Fiero or MR2. I would like to make a custom chassis for the vehicle, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any kits around which would allow me to do this.

Hi Jay.. You're the second Aussie to join the forum this week! You should contact Jim (AusFiero) as he has lots of good contacts for Fieros. He also has an MR2.

To answer your question.. No, I don't know anyone making kits specifically for custom chassis. I think you would end up having to buy a kit for a Fiero or MR2 and then building the chassis to fit it. Someone else may know of something that I don't. Good luck.

why don't you start with a mr2 instead of building a complete chassis, you can get a extreme 355 kit in australia now, if you want i can get the agents e mail and phone number

Hi I just joined the forum yesterday myself after reading it for some time. I have a Fiero sitting out in the driveway that would make a perfect doner for a kit. It is a complete rolling chassis. I don't want a lot for it. It is still LHD but crossover conversions make a great conversion kit to make it easy to change at home. I could supply it as a complete car or as exactly what you need. It also has KYB shocks and struts on it as well. It is an excellent condition rust free chassis that I imported from California to do up when it was basically a complete 86 GT that I was going to do up but I bought another one locally in between.
What part of Australia are you in? I am in Wollongong NSW.

if you are interested in the F40, i have the blueprints for the original chassis that i could trade you for something (i cant sell copyright materials :P)

Thanks for the info guys. I am still wanting one, but in the meantime I guess I'll look into doing a fiero conversion while waiting for a kit.

I don't know where you and Jim are in relation to each other geographically. If you are close enough, maybe you can work a deal with someone for buying two kits together at a discount and also combining shipping... It's worth a shot maybe.
