I prefer the standard rack on the 155, but if you reall want one to get the experience as Alfa intended youll also need the suspension uprights as the angle of the angle and length of the arm the track rod end bolts to is different.

    darn
sorry Rodney; by the time I got that I had already found a 'close' part and taken it for machining. Actually I just called the place back today when I saw this and he said he didn't have a listing for that part anyway. But it will go into my 'maintenance' manual for the car along with what I am using altho these require a bit of machining at the base.....
But good to know for the future.
    thanks!!

The 88 inner tie rod is 1 3/4" longer then the 84-87 inner tie rod. Other than that it is the same and will bolt up the same. The extra lenght is in the shaft between the threaded end and the ball socket. I have 88 inner tie rods on my web page. www.rodneydickman.com.

I used a custom made tube to add to the tie rod end.  It has been on my car since 1998.  Here it is installed on FunnyWheels I after 35,000 mile of use. Photo was sometime in 2000.

im not 100 percent sure but i think all you will have to do,is use an 88 model tie rod end and retain the fiero rack, again im not positive.

    hi all
I have a 308 rebody and am doing a lot of changes to the suspension. The final setup on the front dictates that I need a steering rack that is 2 3/4" longer/wider than stock (85 fiero 4cyl originally).

Any ideas on the easiest and best way to do this?
I prefer any setup that uses common (a.k.a. "inexpensive"...) parts (they will be easy to find and replace!) and thus am willing if necessary to rework my steering knuckle to a new taper to fit a different type of ball joint end. However I DON"T want to make custom ball joint ends as they are a replacement/maintenance/wear part...... if at all possible.
Has anyone experimented with the threads etc to know what other types might fit?
    Thanks for any info!!
