  • 355 Muffler Installation

I have a OEM Ferrari 355 muffler that I am going to use on my AD355 but I have one question. THe OEM muffler has three inlet holes, a big top one, and two smaller lower holes. I have been told that the top hole is only used at high RPM's. How should I hook this muffler up, and what do I do with the let over hole/holes?

    Thanks
    -Chris

Build a blank plate flange.. Bolt the blank over the open larger hole.. scribe it on 3/16" and cut it out.. its a shame to not use the third inlet.
Its a pretty slick setup Ferrari has with the 3 inlet system..

Sorry forgot to mention.. you will need a gasket in between. any auto parts house will have one some hi-temp sealer and gasket will
        do the trick.

Chris why don't you get fancy and use both. Get one of those electric exhaust cutouts.

You can use both by routing to all three. ;D

I have a stock 355 muffler on my car and I used all three inlets by making a manifold with three outlets and the sound is very civilized. On the real Ferrari part of the inlets are used for starting to about half throttle and the other for half to full throttle, The last full throttle are basically straight through! No wander Ferrari's sound so good a full throttle! Big Jim
