    Sorry guys I was away on business and couldn't post, anyhoo so you think fiberglassing would be the best bet.


    Now for matting would this be better then the normal matting or would you recommend another type of matting





    Also is it polyester resin and MEK hardener the stuff I need to get

      Either weight of mat will work. You have the basic idea. It is fairly easy to do. Use aluminum tape to build a form if necessary. Fiberglass will not stick to the tape and you simply peel it away when finished.

        you are on the right track , take a look at www.fibreglast.com , they have some useful stuff on there, and it will give you an idea of how much stuff you need to buy for the size of project.

        Remember if you have never done this before, try a small flat piece (off the car ) to get your technique down pat.

        Also resin to hardner ratio is very important , 1 and 1/4 teaspoon of hardner to 16 floz of resin (if your using polyester.)

        too much and your fiberglass will be brittle , too little and it will be forever pliable and sticky
