  • Looking for micro car in Los Angeles area, cheap!

for my project i think that a micro car, the tiny bike engine
ones from the 50s, would be perfect replacement for the golf
cart since those will cost me my left nut... lol

basically if you don't know, a Vespa 400 or similar

    let ebay do the talking:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=10368

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6472

the second one is the most appealing. i need it cheap as
possible, just needs to be firm enough, since i will most likely
rip off the body unless its worth restoring. i would kill for a 60"
    convertible. literally.

any help is appreciated. $0 to $300 budget.

    thanks everyone.
    these little things kick @ss

Better post a photo of what you want. There are quite a few Golf Car repair shops in Tampa. But that might be too far away for you, but I will check it out for you.

:-\ OK dude,,,,,,,,,you buy it,,,,,you sink a TON of cash into it,,,,Consider it a learning experience. Then what? You drive it in parades? You get in touch with other "micro car" owners and what? There was a rally of these cars here in Missouri this past summer. It was very odd seeing so many tiny cars parked on the streets. I gotta tell ya though,,,,,,,these people that were into them were OLD. I think you get my drift. No offense to the OLD people out there OK? I am not sure what your motivation is for getting one of these things. If it's money,,,,,,,,,,,I'm guessing that parts for this thing will not be cheap if you can even find them. I don't know how old you are,but from your past posts,,,,,,,I don't think this crowd is you! Of course I could be completely wrong and just talking out my A@@! In that case,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Never mind (note the Rosanne Rosanadana reference,,,,,,damn,,,,,showing MY age now) 8)

          Who is Rosanne Rosanadana?
          Is this the correct spelling?

Re:Looking for micro car in Los Angeles area, cheap!

ok u want pics? u got em

            basically i got 2 options:
            (remember i need a range of $0 to $300)

            1) if it looks like a tiny speedster [see pics] and can be fixed
up visually, i can keep it historically accurate fix up the
mechanics and replace the engine etc.. maybe add
            fiberglass for addon fun

            2) if it's cheap and mechanically ok (frame and trans/axles and
steering) but the body has holes the size of fetal pigs
and crap on the floor, i can simply use the frame, steering,
brakes and basic powertrain for my project of microcar
            racer

as small as possible, i dont need a miata :P

now for what i would love to get:

i LOVE this one ------^ but its pretty big

too many posts but now that i read replies

                1. im not in it for the "parades" or meeting people in AARP lol
im 17 and this is for fun, it will be rags to riches fun since i
would use a cheap bike engine

                2. i would drive in go kart track at off hours if i wanted to race

                3. like i said, im not in it for the *make it work and meet
people* attitude altho im sure i'd get attention in this town with the new porsches and new aston martins at EVERY mall,
                bank, and investment firm

                  just thought of this:

a cheap ride-on mower would work too. if anyone can help me
with specific ones for sale near the 91320 zip code area, that
would help alot. i dont need counceling help for finding these,
                  i need actual help

                    AutoMX:

The lawn mower idea sounds good. You could earn enough cash cutting lawns to get into the kit car arena. Most Fiero’s are pretty cheep.

                    Just a thought.

i make sites, its not really the money but the space. no space
at all actually. thus the backyard sized project.
                      thanks for trying
