    My first guess is...

    "Not at all".

Could you use it to make a mold and replicate some lights using the proper color plastic. Why hasn't anyone made replica lights yet? Is it really that difficult?

i was in the sign business many years ago,and i made embossed plastic sign faces ,what i did was heat plasticwith a huge sign oven and a vaccuform machine sucked the plastic down over a wooden sign, most of the times there were flaws, didnt really matter on signs most of them go way up in the air,i guess making taillights would be similiar but they have to be prety much flawless.does anybody know how tailllights are made,i doubt if its feasible for the home builder.does anybody know how theyre mfd.,now im curious

I would suspect that the factory lights are injection molded.
