  • average price of 308/328 kits in Toronto/London?

On my way home from Toronto last night I saw a red 308/328 kit for sale.. not on a car, just the body panels.. already painted too, which suggests the original car was parted out maybe? (or maybe the panels were painted off the car and the owner abandoned the project) no lights, badges, wheels, etc. just the fiberglass panels.. not sure if it had any grilles or not.

anyway, I'm going to stop there this weekend when I go back to school.. what's a typical price for a 308/328 kit?

p.s. I had to register a new name, as my previous name (BlackIce) doesn't seem to work on here anymore. oh well.

Usually 3k to 5k for just the panels...let me know what you find out, I might be interested in purchasing. Thanks!

Update: there wasn';t anyone there that I saw, to talk to about it.. but I got a look at the kit.

it has doors (with glass) attached to the door panels, which really makes me think it was stripped off a finished car. Before it was just a pile of parts, now they're propped up against each other to look more like a car.

The car is on HWY #89 on the west end of Shelburne, there is a white Fiero coupe in the driveway, I'm afraid I haven't got a phone number to contact.

It looks like this kit really has potential, I hope someone can get it. just keep me in mind if whoever gets it decides to make copies.

ouch, waaaay out of my budget!

I take it from your negative sounding response, that it's out of your budget as well?

Not out budget, but he is out of his mind. No way would
I pay that much for what he had sitting there..perhaps he
is eager to sell. I was talking with the wife.

From the looks of things, the house was for sale, nobody
living there and perhaps were just cleaning out the garage.

So maybe in a week or two the price may come down?

Just got a nice donor last night .. 86 GT Fastback. $1500

I won't be back through Shelburne for a while, if the price does come down and you get it, be sure to let us know.

The kit is still there, the house is now empty, house still has a for sale sign on it as well. They might be willing to lower the price on this kit since it's been there 2 months already..?

The kit is/was sold today .. It was placed on kitcars.com.
I was going to get it but backed out .. $2Gs. Somebody
else got it .. I have enough projects on my hands and
besides my 86 fastback looks pretty good as is :-)
besides my still to be completed countach.

This remindes me of the time i almost got a 308 Kit on a 87GT chasis that came with a 4.9L motor and all the goodies for $1000CAD. This was no scam...a friend of mine had a long term kit car project and took the car to a shop to have some engine work done...while there it suffered some vanialism and theft...so of course he was angered by this...his lawyer told him that if he sold the car and everthing related to the car for as reasonably cheap as possible that he could sue the company for more...so the man sold a complete (some weak spots) 308 kit car with a 4.9L (carb...mounts...alt...dist...flywheel...etc.) for $1000...i came to late to buy it myself, however, i got the contact to the gentleman that got it and i bought the motor and trans with all the goodies on it for $750 from him...the motor had 80 000K or less on it and the Getrag 5 speed was from bubba joe

...one of those rare finds...the man the bought it is now selling it for $15 000 or so...he makes Spider kits for fieros...he also had a really nice Lambo kit there...he does not sell them though...not to the public...he states that they're too good to be sold and that they're priceless...i saw one of his kits and i'd have to agree...it was THE most beautyful kit i've ever seen in my life and he offered me one...because we bacame friends...molds....$8000...i'll call him one day if i ever want one :-/
