Well my friend has a 1991 Toyota 4Runner with the crappy 3.0 motor. The motor blew up and he wanted to do the popular 3.4 engine swap. So I helped him find a rolled 1997 4Runner with a good engine and everything to do the swap. On the way home from picking it up I suggested rather then spend the $1,500 for the conversion kit/adapters we just do a body swap. The cost would only be what ever it costs for the fabrication of custom brackets.
So the last couple of weeks we have been tearing down the 97 in preparation of swapping the body. We have gotten it down the frame. The plan is to cut the firewall on the 97 just below the winshield wipers all of the floorpan back to the rear wheels. Well cut the same out of the 91 body and move the firewall over so that everything matches up. We are going to put the 97 interior in also.
Anyways here are some progress pictures so far.
